Specialized Center of Research (SCOR) on Sex Differences

Our Program

Welcome to the Northwestern University Specialized Center Of Research (SCOR) on Sex Differences. The objective of the NU SCOR program is to expedite interdisciplinary development and application of new knowledge to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)–a disease that affects approximately 7% of premenopausal women, to learn more about the cause of this disease, and to foster improved approaches to its treatment and prevention. The NU SCOR is sponsored by National Institute of Child Health and Human Development Grant P50 HD-044405, is one of only 11 SCORs nationwide, and is on it's third five-year cycle of competitive funding.
